Reminds me of what happened to Purdue's Robbie Hummel in 2010: you see the replay, you know that instant they're done for the year. What a shame, cause Murph's been so fun to watch swing the bat this year. Will DeBoerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11060563644014406598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152261572087396302.post-50575239949899265312011-08-07T21:24:04.022-04:002011-08-07T21:24:04.022-04:00I agree with you about Bay being a good fielder. His arm is pretty accurate but not that strong.
Also, I think Murph in the outfield would be a disaster. Most balls are hit to left field and he would cost us a bunch of runs out there. But who knows, he could improve dramatically over the offseason and suprise me, I would like that.

Too bad I think he is done for this season. That play was brutal today, knee totally bent the wrong way, apparently same knee as he injured in the past.2regitnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152261572087396302.post-88009862266486113762011-08-07T20:06:51.024-04:002011-08-07T20:06:51.024-04:00Why not put him in left field? Jason Bay's a much better fielder, so move him to right and put Murph in left where he'll cause the least amount of damage. Will DeBoerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11060563644014406598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152261572087396302.post-17694603538607320542011-08-07T18:20:07.678-04:002011-08-07T18:20:07.678-04:00We need a shortstop, a right fielder, and a bullpe...We need a shortstop, a right fielder, and a bullpen for next year. We will not sign Reyes if another team is willing to throw big bucks at him, and Duda is not a capable fielder in right.
The more games I watch this season the more I realize a good bullpen is key to success. we should concentrate our offseason signings in these areas.
I am happy with Turner at 2nd base, and I have no idea what to do with Murphy. Besides for 1st and maybe 3rd base, he cannot play a position.2regitnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152261572087396302.post-85631720391767573582011-08-07T17:44:53.479-04:002011-08-07T17:44:53.479-04:00Not sure about Reyes, but looks like it for Murph....Not sure about Reyes, but looks like it for Murph...if that's the case, our goose is cooked. Will DeBoerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11060563644014406598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152261572087396302.post-39827509663237542212011-08-07T17:23:15.200-04:002011-08-07T17:23:15.200-04:00DL for Reyes and Murph?DL for Reyes and Murph?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
